Supporting Fertility with Acupuncture: Over 100 Babies and Counting
Throughout my career, I’ve had the joy and honor of helping create more than 100 healthy pregnancies through acupuncture. Fertility treatments using acupuncture are gentle, relaxing, and deeply supportive—helping to balance the body, reduce stress, and enhance reproductive health naturally.
For individuals or couples seeking reproductive support, we typically recommend 2–3 acupuncture sessions per month leading up to conception. Treatments are paused during the week of your menstrual cycle, allowing the body time to reset and realign.
Whether you’re just beginning your fertility journey or seeking support alongside assisted reproductive technologies, acupuncture can be an empowering part of your care plan.

Acupuncture and Assisted Reproductive Therapy: Enhancing Fertility Outcomes
Having worked closely with numerous patients undergoing medical fertility treatments, I can say with confidence that those who incorporated acupuncture into their care often experienced improved outcomes—including the production of more eggs and eggs of higher quality.
Acupuncture is a valuable complement to assisted reproductive therapies such as IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and insemination. By improving blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulating hormones, and reducing stress, acupuncture supports the body’s natural ability to conceive and increases the success rate of fertility procedures.
If you’re currently pursuing or considering IVF or other reproductive treatments, acupuncture may significantly enhance your results—and help you feel more relaxed and supported during the process.

Personalized Acupuncture Support for IVF and Insemination
For patients undergoing IVF or insemination, we recommend 2–3 acupuncture treatments per month leading up to the retrieval or insemination procedure. On the day of your embryo transfer or insemination, you’ll receive two acupuncture sessions—one just before and one immediately after your procedure with your OBGYN. This timing is critical and has been shown to support implantation and improve success rates.
Because IVF is a time-sensitive and carefully coordinated process, you’ll be given a direct cell phone number prior to your retrieval date, so we can easily schedule your transfer-day sessions. I’ve worked with many IVF patients over the years—including treatments on Sundays—and I’m committed to being an active and responsive part of your reproductive team.

Understanding Menstrual Irregularities Through Chinese Medicine
In my practice, it’s rare for a woman to present with just one health concern. Most patients come in with multiple overlapping conditions, especially when fertility is involved. That’s why we take a comprehensive approach—starting with a detailed review of your menstrual cycle and overall health.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) recognizes several classic patterns of menstrual irregularity, each with its own unique symptoms and treatment approach.
Common Menstrual Imbalance Patterns in TCM
1. Blood Deficiency & Infertility
This pattern often presents with a light or absent period, a naturally thin body type, dry skin, hair loss, soft or brittle nails, and occasional cold symptoms. Strengthening and nourishing the blood is key to restoring balance and supporting fertility.
2. Emotional Stagnation
When emotional energy becomes blocked, it can impact the menstrual cycle. Symptoms may include painful periods, PMS, mood swings, irritability, depression, anger, frequent sighing, or a sensation of a lump in the throat. Acupuncture can help release stagnation and improve emotional flow.
3. Painful Periods (Often Related to Endometriosis)
Sharp or stabbing pain before or during menstruation, especially with a known history of endometriosis, is a classic sign of this pattern. Acupuncture helps manage pain and improve circulation throughout the reproductive system.
4. Dampness Accumulation (With or Without Heat Symptoms)
This pattern is common in individuals with irregular cycles, a heavier body type, oily skin, vaginal discharge (white or colored), and a general feeling of heaviness or bloating. You might also experience nausea or heat intolerance. Treatment focuses on resolving internal dampness and restoring balance.
