I have treated Brachioradial Pruritus successfully with acupuncture. In 2011 a patient came to my office with this condition. The patient complained of intense burning, itching, and prickling of the upper arms, forearms, and shoulder. The symptoms were worse at night. The patient complained of fatigue from a lack of sleep.
The focus of my treatment was the skin condition. However, I did treat the upper back and neck, to rule out possible neuromuscular involvement. The patient denied having a prior neck or shoulder injury.
Within 4 visits the patient reported an 80 percent improvement in the condition. The patient can sleep comfortable through the night.
This condition is so unusual I might not treat another case during my career; I am posting my findings online so those suffering from this condition will try acupuncture.
