Acupuncture for Knee Pain and Injuries
In my clinical experience, scheduling treatments close
together over a short period can produce the best results
for some patients. Your treatment schedule will depend on
your symptoms and individual needs.
Common Knee Conditions Treated with Acupuncture
1. Arthritis of the Knee
Knee arthritis is the most common knee condition
for which patients seek acupuncture in my practice.
Symptoms may worsen when the weather changes,
particularly during cold or damp conditions.
Some people find that warmth and rest ease their
discomfort, while others feel better after gentle
movement. Acupuncture may be considered as part
of an individualized plan to manage knee pain.
2. Traumatic Knee Injuries
Injuries to the knee are another common reason
patients visit my clinic. During the early stage
of treatment, the focus is on managing pain and
swelling around the injured joint.
As swelling decreases, treatment can shift toward
supporting comfort and movement during recovery.
A significant knee injury should also be medically
evaluated to determine whether imaging,
rehabilitation, or other care is needed.
